I started Marketmaker in 2015 and at the time was focused on Financial and Professional Services, as well as Insurance. However, it became clear that becoming a specialist in a particular field would allow me to be of optimal value to my network – vital, as a professional consultancy.
Being one of those strange beasts that loves the insurance industry and the people in it, that was my choice and it has been satisfying to become increasingly familiar with how it works.
Beyond this however, I have also focused the business on being primarily concerned with Private Equity-held/owned and other private ownership models, since I have most value to bring to other entrepreneurial people and models. This has led me to deliver market-mapping projects and originate investments/fundraising.
Working across the value chain also allows support to re/insurer, MGA, broker, insurtech, or investor alike.

Outside of work, I am an exceptionally proud husband to Catherine, and father to Alex, Nancy, and Thomas. I am fortunate to enjoy the best of two worlds – life at home in the Yorkshire Dales, and weekly visits to London for work.
